    This workshop is designed to empower parents of autistic children with the knowledge and tools they need to effectively navigate the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.

    Who should attend: Parents, guardians, and caregivers of autistic children who are currently in or preparing to enter the special education system. This workshop is also beneficial for those who want to better understand their rights and advocate for their child's educational needs.

    What you'll learn: Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the IEP process, from initial evaluation to annual review. We'll cover key topics such as:
    - Understanding your child's rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
    - Preparing for IEP meetings
    - Setting meaningful and measurable goals
    - Advocating for appropriate accommodations and supports
    - Understanding different types of IEP goals and how to evaluate them
    - Strategies for effective communication with the IEP team

    Format: This is an interactive workshop with presentations, group discussions, and Q&A sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences, ask questions, and receive personalized guidance.

    Special notes: This workshop is free and will be held online via Zoom. A recording will be available to all registered participants for one week following the live event.
