Researchers made strides in identifying biologically distinct subtypes of autism, moving towards more personalized treatments. A Princeton study even used AI to define four subtypes linked to unique genetic profiles. There were also advances in understanding the genetic components of autism, with 33 X-linked variants consistently linked.
Research also highlighted overlaps between autism and other conditions like ADHD, and explored topics like sex differences in diagnosis and effective interventions like telehealth CST (Communication Support Therapy).
