One study showed that ESDM led to greater gains in social reciprocity, while ABA excelled in gross motor skills. Another study indicated that children who underwent ESDM maintained gains with fewer repetitive behaviors and lower autism severity scores over time. Parent-led ABA can also be effective, with skill acquisition increasing over time.
